Tourism in Nepal set to make a comeback as 2023 promises a thriving season post-COVID-19

Tourist arrivals are increasing in Nepal, according to the . Over 600,000 tourists visited Nepal in 2022, which is a significant increase compared to the 150,962 tourists who visited the country in 2021, at the height of the Covid-19 pandemic.

However, the number of visitors is still about 50% lower than the 1,197,191 tourists who visited Nepal in 2019, before the pandemic. Despite this, there are signs of a tourism revival in the country. 

The Hotel Association of Nepal (HAN) reports that the number of inquiries from potential visitors is increasing.
